A Sevier County hotel has won an award from Choice Hotels International Inc., franchisor of the brand that won.

The Comfort Inn Apple Valley hotel of Sevierville won 2012 Platinum Hospitality Award.

The Econo Lodge Riverside in Pigeon Forge won a Platinum Hospitality Award.

"These hotels' commitment to excellence and outstanding guest service have earned them this well-deserved recognition as the best hotels among their brand," said Steve Joyce, president and chief executive officer for Choice Hotels. "We here at Choice Hotels are very proud to award this distinguished honor to them."

As top performing properties among the company's more than 5,000 U.S. franchised hotels, the hotels were among the top percentile of properties within the brand. The hotels demonstsrated an exceptional focus on guest satisfaction and dedication to providing superior service.

Additional award criteria are evaluated by Choice Hotels through its official property ranking reports.
